Dear Rob,

Gerson, Alex C., and I were discussing your paper and we were wondering
what is the status with spectral identifications of SN 1998be. Andy sent me
an email reminding me that there were indeed some debates on whether this
is a credible SN Ia.
I have inclosed two fits in this email. They are done with two resolutions
one binned to 10A, the other 20A. From what I can see, this is a Ia as any
other ones we can claim. In addition to the success of an SN fit, the host
should be sth like S0 or E.
