Gerson update 12/17/04
Hi All,
I have corrected the error values. The errors include 0.17 in
quadrature. I show hubble curves explicitly for Omega_M = 0.2,0.3,0.4
and 1.0 to be able to read off sensitivity. I show the curves with empty
universe subtracted. These are universal for U and B-band. I also show
an image with both U amd B fits given.
I have run a test to see how sensitive our results are to a 0.1
uncertainty in z. I chose SN 065 which is at z=1.181 and fitted it for
the ficticious value z=1.281. Rollin supplied me with the corresponding
k-corrections. The curves with the empty universe subtracted are
particularly insensitive to the exact z value. For z=1.2 and 1.3 the
Omega_M = 0.2 curve goes from 0.015 to 0.011 for example.
The results of the fits are:
z M_u M_b s
1.181 25.46(0.047) 25.87(0.099) 0.951(0.053)
1.281 25.45(0.047) 25.73(0.098) 0.940(0.048)
I think these small changes are good news for using photo z values in
this z region.
The new images are on the Subaru section of the TWiki for this date.
