Dear Dr Lidman,
I am pleased to inform you that your paper entitled "Spectroscopic confirmation of high-redshift supernovae with the ESO VLT" is accepted for publication in Astronomy and Astrophysics. The official date of acceptance is 04/10/2004.
You are now invited to send your manuscript files to the publisher. First prepare the final manuscript *.tex file by removing the referee option. Then prepare the figures files as *.ps or *.eps files and any additional stylefiles needed. Name the LaTeX and Postscript files using the last 4 digits of your manuscript number (e.g. for Figure 1: 0030fig1.eps) so as to avoid any confusion. Do not use more than 8 signs, plus the extension (e.g. abcdefgh.xxx). You can then send the files in one of the 3 ways indicated below :
1. by e-mail directly to the publisher at the following address:
aa.accepted@edpsciences.org
2. by anonymous ftp to:
ftp server: ftp.edpsciences.org
username: anonymous
password: your e-mail address
directory: incoming/aa
(Please do not forget to send simultaneously an email to aa.accepted@edpsciences.org)
Generate a directory using the name of the first author or your manuscript number to hold all the files or generate a single archive (tar.gz). Please use lower-case for all directories and archives.
3. by regular mail (on a diskette) to:
EDP Sciences
17, avenue du Hoggar
PA de Courtaboeuf, BP 112
91944 Les Ulis cedex A (France)
A hardcopy of the final, accepted version of your paper will be sent
by the editorial office to the publisher. The version that you send to the publisher must, of course, be the same as the accepted version.
Please carefully check the final version of your article before sending it to the publisher. An extra charge will be requested if more than ten new changes are made to the proofs.
Check that your address (see at the top of this message) is correct, as the publisher will send the reprints to that address.
You may update your contact information through the web page 'Consult the status' (https://mms-aanda.obspm.fr/is/aa/) using your author ID (10848) and the paper reference (AA/2004/1504).
Finally, please take a few moments to fill out the on-line feedback form at http://wwwusr.obspm.fr/bertout/page6.html
Your comments will help us improve the editorial and refereeing processes.
Thank you for your kind cooperation.
With best wishes,
Claude Bertout

TECHNICAL ISSUES
All articles must be processed using the new LaTeX2e macro-package, according to the instructions given in the User's Guide of
the package available via the anonymous ftp server at
ftp://ftp.edpsciences.org/pub/aa/. In particular, you are invited to tag the astronomical objects discussed in your paper using the \\object command.
On principle, all computer-generated figures should be sent as encapsulated Postscript files, but bitmap formats such as TIFF, BMP, WMF and GIF are also acceptable, provided they have a resolution of at least 300 dots per inch (dpi).
The colour figures will appear in grey shades in the printed version and in colour in the on-line edition of the article, unless the authors tell us otherwise at the time of paper's acceptance. Note that there is a charge for figures printed in colour.
If you have any questions concerning the electronic files, please send an e-mail to EDP Sciences at aa.accepted@edpsciences.org
