Hi Chris,
I'm looking forward to examining the 9784 host images!
I have several other hosts which need images. Generally they are
either very faint or ones for which the SN lightcurve was poor. But
they are still important for the hosts study because with them I will
have a well-defined complete subsample of hosts.
Here I list the relative priority for getting photometry in R or I
(10 is highest priority).
SCP IAU RA (2000) Dec #Refs | Priority | Mhost Host
I | R I | I
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
S01-033 2001gw 15:43:45 +07:57:50 0 | 0 10 | 20 big (3")
94264 1994an 22:44:18 +00:06:48 1 | 0 8 | 20.7
9624 1996cm 15:30:11.3 +05:55:27 16 | 3 6 | 26.0 compact
I am aiming for S/N > 25 in I-band for the bright hosts (S01-033 and
94264), which should take less than 10 minutes each. Currently the
very faint host 9624 has S/N ~ 2 in 2.5 hrs in I-band with 1.2"
seeing on 4-m class telescopes, whereas I'd like to have S/N > 5 on
it if possible. Because 9624's host is unresolved (at 1.2"), good
seeing will help a lot. For 0.8" seeing at VLT I estimate that 1.7
hrs in I and 0.9 hrs in R would do the trick. Together, these three
hosts will use all the remaining FORS2 imaging time.
Note that it is possible that Mark Sullivan obtained images for the two
brighter hosts at the AAT a few nights ago. I'm awaiting confirmation on
that.
