Dear Colleagues,
Paranal were able to get some data last night before the wind forced them to
point to the South. The wind may drop again, so we still have a chance for more data
before the end of the night.
On ISAAC, they observed S02-002 for an additional 150 minutes.
On FORS2, they observed 4 candidates. They also tried to do S02-075 as well, but there is a doubt about the
offset from the HEX star.
C02-034 - z=0.242, H-alpha, OII, H and K bands. No obvious SN features
C02-028 - z=0.448, H-alpha, H and K. Some broad SN like features. Possible SiII at 9000 Angstroms
T02-030 - z=0.511, Weak OII - a beautiful type Ia
T02-028 - Type Ia at z=0.46?? The exposure is only 800 seconds as they had stop because of wind. This needs a
bit more before we are sure.
Spectr are available from http://www.sc.eso.org/~clidman/
Since the weather has been so poor during the past week, the two forthcoming nights which were meant to be
technical will for part of the time be used for service observing.
Cheers, Chris.
