Dear Saul,
The dates I listed were incorrect. The service nights are on the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th
of May.
Are these dates still useful for CFHT SNe that will be found during the next 10 days?
If not, we'll have a large number of FORS2 hours that may be left unused. We have
three possibilities.
- Get a spectrum of the host of S02-002 to confirm the redshift
- Carry the unused time to period 70, ie October 2002 to March 2003.
- Swap FORS2 time for FORS1 time. FORS1 is available from 9th to
14th of May. However, FORS1 uses the old chip and is less efficient than FORS2,
so confirming the high z guys will be tough.
The latter two options need approval from ESO.
Cheers, Chris.
