Hi,
some of you probably are worrying about the discrepancy in
the discovery magnitudes of the two z=1.06-1.08 SNe, 23.5
and 24.3. I added a simulation plot on this issue in the
Stockholm web page. The bottom line is: given the known
diversity of Ia's prior to stretch-brightness corrections, both
discovery mags are within expectations. One of them, the fainter
one, is right on the average expected magnitude while the
bright one is about 1.5 sigma off the mean, measurement errors
not considered. In other words, no need for panic.
