S02-002 and S02-001 were done on the VLT last night

Dear Colleagues,
   Contrary to what was written in the telescope night report, the VLT also did
S02-002 and S02-001. We only just got the data. There are some nice surprises.

S02-002 looks like a type Ia at z=1.08. The spectrum is at http://www.sc.eso.org/~clidman/.
Have a look and tell us what you think. This is unexpectedly distant.

The galaxy near S02-001 has a strong emission line at 9033 Angstroms. If it is OII, (this
is probably the case since we do not see the 4959 line and 3737 lines if it were 5007). This
puts the galaxy at z=1.42. We are currently reducing the spectrum and will have it available
on the web soon.

  The plan for tonight will be to continue with S02-001 for two more hours.
