Isobel's SUMMARY of the Apr 2001 Keck run. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inst Name # Comments ------------------------------------------------------------------------- V/L JS Bach 031 VLT : z=0.765 (Chris & Gaston) IMH thinks maybe SN at z~1.04 from VLT spectrum. LRIS data: maybe SN at z~1 but very noisy. No gal lines. V/L Sibelius 004 0.56 from VLT? IMH not sure - cant make bumps match. LRIS data : maybe bumps but not very convincing. possibly z=0.58 if the spike is OII (but probably a bad sky line). V/L Gershwin 037 LRIS data: looks flat. No SN features. VLT - also flat. E junk04 029 ESI data: SN at z=0.56 looks OK. Possibly OII at z=0.548? But z=0.37 also looks good! V/E/L Bizet 005 LRIS: no lines but break at 6000A > z~0.46 VLT z=0.484? (IMH). Weak SN features + break. Possibly galaxy absorption lines? E Torelli 000 ESI: z=0.67? from possible galaxy Ca H&K. No matching SN features. Red, featureless spectrum. E Dvorak 038 ESI: Extremely weak. looks pretty flat. 2nd attempt still looks flat (Lifan got SN at z~0.73) E/L Gresse 063 LRIS: z=0.671 (galaxy). SNIa features look OK when gal template subtracted. ESI: z=0.671 (galaxy) confirmed. SN features weaker. More galaxy contamination in this extraction? Could try separate SN extraction. (need to get 2d data) V/E/L Holst 033 VLT: z=0.36 (IMH's estimate) from SN. Good Ia match. LRIS: z=0.36 from SN. No gal lines obvious. Try blue side? ESI: poor S/N but z=0.36 SN OK. SiII feature possibly. E Debussy 034 z~0.60 (4000A break). Maybe 0.602 from gal lines. SN extremely weak if there at all. Could try extracting the SN separately (needs 2d data) E Boccherini 006 Ia looks good at z~1.1 (night 4 data is best) Possible OII at z=1.12?? E Vivaldi 077 z=0.511 (galaxy OII, Hb, OIII) Ia features good when galaxy template subtracted. Weak SiII though. E Copeland 032 z=0.661 from OII, OIII, Hb in galaxy SNIa features looks good. E Orne 048 z=1.067 from galaxy OII. Flat spectrum. No SN features. E Prokofiev 078 z=0.582 (OII, Ca H&K from galaxy) SNIa features look good after subtracting some template. E Bartok 021 Blue continuum object. No clear gal or SN features. E Satie 062 Matches SNIa at z~1.05 (depends on tempate used) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- E Rance 058 Not reduced (by me anyway - I left the run at this point).
