Peter suggests that this is a Type II at z=0.18, but I think it is a better fit to a Type Ia at z~0.5. I used 98109c_comb_ap2.asc, smoothed it by 3 pixels, and subtracted 10% E galaxy spectrum.

98109.snII.ps shows the comparison to a type II -- 93W at +4 days at z=0.2 (the fit isn't as goot at z=0.18).

98109.snIa.ps shows the comparison to a type Ia at z=0.497 -- 92A at -1d.

5/19/03:sn98109tr.ms_cal.lc.7.ps shows the comparison to a type Ia at z=0.497 -- 92A at +11d.

5/19/03:sn98109tr.ms_cal.lc.9.ps shows the comparison to a type Ia at z=0.497 -- 92A at +7d. This is consistent with the (rest frame) date the spectrum was taken with respect to the light curve.
