    Hi Rob,

Since we discovered that 9779/97ai did not have final refs, I thought I
would put together a list of SNe which need final refs. First I looked
at the SNe where in Section 2.2 of the paper you said there was no
I-band final reference. I found final refs for all of those! They are:

                          # of refs
       SCPname IAUname R I
       --------------------------------------------------
       975 SN1997J 8 2
       9733 SN1997O 34 27 has ref on Rob's fit
       9742 SN1997Q 33 9
       9760 SN1997R 36 9
       9739 SN1997S 15 4 all I from ESI, Nov 2002
       9748 SN1997K 3 9 most I from ESI, Nov 2002
       9785 SN1997am 23 10

I can understand that in the case of 97J two images isn't enough. Also,
in the cases of 97S and 97K most of the references were obtained just
last November. But what is wrong with the remaining four of these? The
images listed as refs are images in the SCP image database that Quimby
and I have determined to be free of SN light based on lightcurve fits,
and which we have used to make SN-free images of the hosts. I know
that most of the images are usable because we got good host galaxy
    measurements from them.

In the end, I found only the following two cases from the paper where
    final refs are actually needed:

       94351 SN1994G 1 R and 2 I
       9779 SN1997ai no R or I

Interestingly, in the fit of 94351 from Mar 7, you did fix the zeropoint
and I-band refs are shown. I guess you changed that subsequently?

I'm not suggesting that we redo things now, but people should be aware
that there is more work that needs to be done to finish some of the
    1997 SNe lightcurves.

Finally, it would be great to know which SNe could be improved by more than
0.1 mag if a better final ref were available.
