    While it sounds like the question of whether or not 98109 is a Ia has
    been resolved, here is a sanity check for those of you subtracting host
    galaxy light. The host of 98109 has R = 25.1 and I=24.7, which is
    exceedingly faint. The restframe color is B-V = 0.2 + 0.3, which is
    much too blue to be an elliptical. The B magnitude is -16.6 at the
    canonical redshift. This would decrease by 2 magnitudes if the true
    redshift were at z ~ 0.2, making the relative odds a lot smaller that
    it would produce a SN.

    Ok, and I just saw Chris' note. So the redshift seems firm, and the
    presence of OII matches the host colors I have - this is a star-forming
    galaxy.
