OK, I've started to go over the SC3 draft. One thing that pops out
immediately is that 98be is red, but not faint (see the Hubble diagram
uncorrected for extinction). It is the lowest stretch SN of the
bunch. This raises questions about the color-stretch relation, or some
other aspect of the analysis. (The E(B-V) vs stretch plot you sent on
Friday does suggest redder intrinsic colors than what you have used.
For example, see the elliptical-hosted SN right at s=0.7 and the two
near the line at s=0.75. I know its hard to make something of three
points, but given that we don't even know that we're using a good
functional form for color vs. stretch I don't see any reason why we
should *miss* those points.)
The next thing I noticed was the inclusion of Fits 7 and 8. What
purpose do they serve? They may have some value internally, but I
don't think they are fits we want to show - are they?
This is all based on a very very quick examination of the paper.
