If you look in the gnumeric spreadsheet, the NED heliocentric z is
given in addition to the CMB z. Maybe you should try fitting with
the NED heliocentric z and see if it is responsible for worsening the
fit.
Of course, this still doesn't tell us that it is necessarily the wrong
thing to use, since if they are better redshifts and the fit is worse
that is simply the way it is, but it does tell us if we should be
worried about the CMB conversion or not.
