Hi Rob,
Most of my comments were minor (typos/wording), and (after scanning
the other comments) I've tried to avoid too much redundancy. (Almost
certainly some will remain.) So hopefully this will be relatively
brief and petty, and thus easily ignored.
Page 2: I think someone mentioned this, but let me agree that surely
given the timing the referee will ask for comparisons to WMAP.
Paragraph starting "Currently" could use some rewording. Saul's
rewording helps. I don't think the sentence "Therefore ... both (A)
... but also (B) ... and also (C)" works. The simplest way out is to
replace "both" with "not only" for instance.
Page 4: "The HST images were reduced through the standard HST data
reduction pipeline" -- being new to HST stuff, I have o idea what this
means. Is this SCP software or HST software? Can you provide a
reference?
Later in this paragraph: "7x7 or 9x9" pixels I assume?
Finally, the last thing on this page -- tell us more about this Tiny
Tim fellow.
Page 7, last paragraph -- I have to agree with others that at least as
worded the floating offset is likely to draw unwanted attention from
the referee. I think it needs better justification in the paper.
Page 8 Table 2: Thanks. Any chance of putting all 331 days in the
online version?
Page 9: "2.3 Color- and K-Corrections" -- when you mention that "a
single linear color term ... suffices ..." and so on I found myself
wondering what the size of this error/scatter is.
In the paragraph "Color- and K-Corrections were performed" for the
complete outsider it might be good to state from the start that the SN
template is time dependent.
Page 13 2nd line of 2nd column (paragraph starts "Some of our") --
"Based on the table" -- give the table number. Since it's not on this
page, it was a bit of a mystery.
Page 17 "and one is omitted as an outlet." You need to find a better
way to relieve stress, it's not fair to take it out on the SNe.
Page 18: Paragraph starting "Cosmological fits" --> I agree that
Omega(Lambda) = (-1-3) is not aesthetically pleasing.
My train ride tends to end around here, so my comments trail off
pretty quickly . . . I may get more to you later.
