Spring cleaning time...
/home/astro10 / /home/users is pretty much full. Right
now this is preventing me from installing updates to
stsdas/tables, which is stopping lifan from processing
some STIS data which is needed for a proposal.
The exciting change is that Greg is no longer even close
to the top in terms of space usage. There are a bunch
of new contenders for the throne. The biggest hog is
Natalia, followed by Fan Lau and then Lifan himself!
Particularlly impressive is Natalia's climb into power,
since she was using less than 1GB last time I did this.
A tour of her directory shows that she is using a large amount
of space on copies of deeplib -- which certainly don't need
to be backed up every week. In particular,
/home/users/natalia/deeplib-0.5.17/src/tmp
contains 900 MB of test images. Apparently she has chosen
to ignore my previous plea to not put images in /home/astro10.
Although Fan doesn't seem to have a large number of images,
his space is mostly taken up with the output of his numerical
simulations. So, Fan, does this stuff need to be backed up
every week, or could it be put someplace else with a little
more room?
It's a bit harder to figure out how Lifan is using his space,
although the 400 MB of mail is impressive.
Tony appears to have 450 MB of 4 copies of JRaux's thesis.
While it might be nice to have a backed up copy, do we
really need 4?
Anyways, I could go on, but please try to clear up a little
space -- all of you. And stop putting images and data sets
on /home/astro10 (/home/users)!
