Dear all,
Subaru observation was scheduled on 12/4-6,
but we lost 2 nights and our last observation will be 12/6.
The rough situation is as the following.
Filter exchanger of Suprime-Cam has broken on 11/27.
The observatory tried to fix it on 11/28 and 11/29.
In the afternoon of 11/29, it seems to be hopeless.
The observatory canceled the UH time scheduled on 11/30 and 12/1
and noticed the situation to the observer.
In the evening of 11/29, the filter exchanger was fixed "miraculously"
and we got data for SNe.
The PI of SXDS survey proposed to continue SXDS observation on 11/30
and 12/1. They have done observation of SXDS, but I did not request
for the data for SNe since we already got data on 11/29.
As a result, the director of Subaru telescope decided to assign
UH time (originally scheduled on 11/30 and 12/1) on 12/4 and 5
as a compensation.
Mamoru has explained our international collaboration scheme and
the importance of the observation in this period to make light curves,
but the director did not change his mind.
We are still requesting more nights for SNe obsevation but currently
approved night is 12/6 only.
