Introduction to the SCP Union Compilation

The original Union compilation paper: Kowalski et al. (The Supernova Cosmology Project), accepted for publication, Ap.J., 2008 (note that the arXiv.org version lacks the full-resolution figures)
The SCP "Union" SN Ia compilation brings together data from 414 SNe drawn from 13 independent datasets, of which 307 SNe pass usability cuts. All SNe were fit using a single lightcurve fitter and uniformly analyzed. We also present new data for eight well-measured z ~ 0.1 SNe. All analyses and cuts were developed in a blind manner, i.e. with the cosmology hidden.
Looking Beyond Lambda with the Union Supernova Compilation by Rubin et al. (The Supernova Cosmology Project), an associated theory paper comparing cosmological models to the data, is now available. Some high resolution figures from it appear below.
